Baosteel Zhanjiang No.1 BF Blown-In
The blow-in ceremony of the No.1 blast furnace at Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel Base was held on the same day Baosteel celebrated its 30th anniversary of its first blast furnace startup.
The No.1 BF at Zhanjiang Steel Plant was designed by CISDI with a volume of 5,050m3, an expected campaign of 22 years and an annual hot metal production of 4.115Mt/a.
It involved partial procurement by CISDI, maximizing the self-developed designs and the integration of ironmaking process, equipment and technology.
Aiming at building a world representative mega blast furnace with high-quality and efficiency, long campaign, environmental-protection, energy and cost saving
CISDI used it’s over 30-years of experience to innovatively arrange the two sets of stockhouses, water pumps and central control rooms for both No.1 and 2 BFs in their respective buildings in a centralized way
CISDI made multiple optimizations of the general layout to match the afore-said centralized arrangements and was encouraged to use CISDI’s BCQ top, blower, TRT unit and cast-iron cooling staves for the first time for the 5,000m3-level BF. The top-combustion stoves and gas cleaning system was delivered on an EP basis.
CISDI paid much attention to the energy efficiency and environmental protection aspects.
Piling for the Zhanjiang No.1 BF started in May 2013 and all-round construction in that September; CISDI engineers were stationed long term at the site, overcoming difficulties in climate and geology, a tight schedule, hard construction and long-distance equipment delivery.
These efforts were repaid with the high-quality technology and services and the spirit of CISDI lighting up the No.1 BF, wining the praise from the client and partners.
